Our Extended Hour and Holiday Clubs
Rhodes Avenue’s Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Club are registered to provide childcare for children aged 3 to 11 years. These services are managed and run by Rhodes Avenue as part of our wider service to the school community. The managers maintain close working relationships with the Head/Deputy Teacher which ensures continuity of care between school and the After School Club.
Booking
Bookings are on a first-come-first-served basis via SchoolMoney.
You can book your requirements for each half term and add or delete bookings for future weeks as your needs change. Just remember that the closing time for you to make changes (bookings and cancellations) to the Monday of the current week is Sunday at 12midnight, and Tuesday to Friday by Monday at 9am.
If you book your child in, and they are not able to attend for any reason (other than closures made by the school), you will be charged if you do not cancel your bookings on time.
If you need to book a one-off session for the current week, wherever possible, please email clubs@rhodesavenue.org.uk in advance so that we can amend the register and ensure there are sufficient staff in place to provide a safe ratio of staff to children.

Additional Fees
Late Collection
A late payment fee of £3.00 per each 5 minutes will be charged if children are collected after 6.00pm in order to offset any additional staff wages and/or transport costs that could be incurred.
Temporary changes
Please remember that we need to know if your child/children will not be attending After School Club for any reason. If you know in advance of any days when your child/children will not be attending, please inform the Admin Officer as early as possible.
Extra-curricular clubs during After School Club operation
Please inform the Admin Officer if your child is attending an extra-curricular club at school during the operation of the After School Club so that your child can be collected by a member of the After School Club team.
Snack Menu
Rhodes Avenue After School Menu 01.09.2024
A snack, fruit and water are provided each day within the session. This is not intended to be a substitute for the main evening meal that your child receives at home.
A selection of pizza, pasta, sandwiches, wraps, fruit and vegetables will be served across the week.
The children dine on a rotation. They are encouraged to serve themselves, try new foods and to tidy up after they have eaten.
Arrival and departure
Children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are collected from their classrooms at the end of the school day by play workers and taken to the After School Club setting. Years 3 – 6 are collected from a pre-arranged collection point within the main school junior building and taken to their After School Club setting. A register is taken daily, with a signing-in/out sheet used by staff and parents/carers on entering and leaving the After School Club.
Children should always be collected by a known named adult. In exceptional circumstances when it is not possible for your child to be collected by you or the named or regular person, please make sure to contact us in advance to let us know, as this avoids any unnecessary delays because of identification checks.
The club finishes promptly at 6.00pm each day. If you are delayed for whatever reason please ensure to telephone the appropriate club setting to let us know at the earliest possible convenience.
Holiday Club
We will have holiday clubs available on the following dates:
October half term: 28th October to 1st November 2024
FAQ
Illness
If a child becomes ill whilst in our care, we will telephone the parent/carer in the first instance to inform them of this. If we are unable to get hold of them we will then call their nominated ‘emergency’ contact to collect them. Please make sure that your contact details are always up to date.
Behaviour
The staff team at the After School Club aims to create a welcoming, caring environment where relationships are based on mutual respect and to develop positive self-esteem in each child. We are committed to maintaining high expectations of good behaviour. This is an essential contribution to the enjoyment of the children while attending the After School Club. We follow the school’s policies and procedures in relation to behaviour.
Child Protection
We comply with local and London Safeguarding Board child protection procedures and ensure that all staff are trained in Safeguarding and have a DBS. The designated teacher for Child Protection is Cigdem Mourat (Deputy Headteacher). For further details, please refer to the school’s Safeguarding Policy.
Policies and procedures
Our wraparound services and Holiday Club operates under the same set of policies and procedures as the school, copies of which are available on the school website.
